In The Matrix, Neo was offered two pills and was asked to choose one of the two pills. The blue pill had an effect of making Neo woke up in his bed and believed whatever he wanted to believe. On the other hand, the red pill would make Neo stay in Wonderland and Morpheus would show him how deep the rabbit hole was. And therefore, Neo decided to take the red pill. Neo also fought a battle for his live for a truth that could cause him to sacrifice his life.
In the Allegory of the cave, the video showed how people have lived their lives being a prisoner. Their legs, hands and faces were chained to a wall of the cave facing just a blank wall made of bricks. So, they could not even move and see what is behind them. All their lives, they could only watch the shadows on the walls they were facing when people or animals walked behind them. The prisoners also believed that the sounds of the people passing by behind them came from the shadows they saw.
In The Matrix and The Allegory of the Cave both stressed on the same question. “ What is real? Are we living in the real world or is everything just an illusion?
