Introduction
Leadership is like a diamond that consists of various facets. These facets combine together to bring the many aspects and characteristics of leadership. Hemphills and Coors (1981) as cited in (Ramli, 2011) describes leadership as the behavior of an individual when directing a group activity towards a goal. Tannenbaum, Weshlers and Moasarik (1981) as cited in (Ramli, 2011) states that leadership is the influence among individuals that is conducted in a certain situation, under direction, through a communication process, towards the achievement of goals.
The core of leadership will rest in the leader who is responsible for the above mentioned influence and change. A leader can be defined as a person, who is acknowledged as a possessing

Traits such as personality, physical, social and intellectual, helps to make leaders. Leaders specific behaviours sets them apart from others. Trait theory has its pros and cons. However when relating trait theory to Aishath Mohamed Solih, she stands on the positive side of this theory. She often says leaders are not only born but are also made. Nevertheless, to me she seems to have the innate traits that makes a good leader.
Futhermore her leadership style exhibits elements of Kurt Lewin’s framework. Such as employ democratic tactics when dealing with issues that are directly related to team members. This creates a sense of value and belonginess among the staff (Manning & Kurtis, 2012). However she does employ autocratic style on rare occasions when the need arises. She often says that, “there are certain decisions that I should make as the principal of the school.” I believe she is fully aware of the negative effects of this style if it is

She tries to maintain a balance between concern for people and concern for results. However I feel she edges a bit more towards the latter. Which is fair enough as results, is what the public sees and need. When ever the school achieves a set target, the next thing she would does always include valuing and appreciating the work of fellow team members. From personal observation I can say that, she would never be the country club or produce or perish type of manager. (Manning & Kurtis,
