The idea of leadership has transformed throughout the years to encompass varying aspects of leadership approaches, leadership types and the like. According to Webster’s Dictionary, leadership is defined as the power or ability to lead other people. Given its broad definition, leadership is understood to have different meanings when applied to diverse situations. For example, there are different types of approaches to leadership, including adaptive and transformative leadership. Adaptive leadership refers to the manner in which leaders are able to encourage and prepare people to deal with change. Berger (2014) speaks of several leadership models. Achievement-Oriented Leadership (Individual Leadership, Behavioral Leadership, and Contingent Leadership), Relationship- Oriented Leadership (Transactional Leadership, Inclusive Leadership, and Feminist Leadership) and last, Values-Oriented Leadership (Ethical Leadership, Transformational Leadership, and Authentic Leadership). All of these models are teachable models for a leader to learn how to become successful. Cavazotte et al., (2012) tested and taught the effectiveness of individual differences on transformational leadership and performance. In teaching of Transformational Leadership, it extended to: Emotional Intelligence, Intelligence, Openness, Conscientiousness, Neuroticism, Extraversion, and Agreeableness. The teaching of Managerial Performance extended to: each listed underneath Transformational Leadership as well as Control Variables: Gender, TeamSize, and Managerial Experience. Antonakis et al., (2011) taught and tested participants, prepared them to face problems in order for them to become accustom to solving problems. Participants were also trained in charismatic leadership allowing them to deliver what they learned in 6 weeks.
