Technology is once again going to shape and form the way Police Officers perform their jobs functions. Since the start of Law enforcement there has always been change. This is very ironic since the culture of the organization at its heart hates change. Mention change to the department and watch moral drop. However, after time and the growing pains the change is the best thing that has ever happened. The change that is brewing on the horizon is body worn cameras. The basic elements of law enforcement culture suggest, we should be skeptical about whether the introduction of body-worn cameras will effectively address the concerns many critics have had- especially since …show more content…
In many respects, judges and prosecutors are quite happy not to know what “processes” ensured prior to any matter brought to their attention (Manning 2015). I disagree with that statement. The way the process works is the Police Officer, Detectives, and other departments perform their job the way they should. By boots on the ground old fashioned police work. However, when they apprehend a bad guy, they are usually, wearing a different style dress, use a different kind of speech, (foul language) and possible under the influence. I see them as benefit the way the body worn cameras are meant to function. However, the body worn cameras would have been an asset as a witness to some life changing profile case in the past. The footage could have changed history for Missouri, and New York, with their high profile cases. As with technology it will never end it will improve and change into something that it was not meant to be. Just look at the cell phones, sure at first it was a phone then over time it has changed the way people communicate. Majority of it for the better for the public, but the fine art of communication with pen and paper and families talking has changed. The future is here and the way Law enforcement operates is
