Expository Writing Academic Decorum is having good control in the classroom and behaving like I should around the teacher. Some examples of Academic Decorum are: coming to class prepared, turning in my work on time, respecting the teacher's rules, respecting my classmates and people around me, showing good behavior all the time, and having good manners. Academic Decorum does mean something to me. It helps me reflect on my day better, and it helps me learn faster, and better than I did before I first learned about Academic Decorum. 2) Narrative Self Analysis:
A) I am generally a contributor towards Academic Decorum in the classroom. When I am in the classroom, I try most of the time, which is a problem. I need to be able to focus all of the time, and try my hardest. It is very rare that I will not behave in class, or not behave around my classmates. Academic Etiquette is learning to behave and follow rules that your teacher or your school has. An example of me having good Academic Etiquette is: During first period, my teacher asks me to do something for her, so instead of saying no, or i don't want to, I said yeah, what do you need me to do? When I say push myself hard enough, I mean to push myself to study more, focus more on my school/homework, and work hard every 44 minutes of the class period. Also, I would like to improve on reading, and my STAR score. My goal for my reading level is 10.6 or higher. But, if I want that, I have to learn to work hard, and I have to listen to directions better. I will accomplish this by reading 20 minutes a day, even if I don't want to, focusing more on the goals I have set for this year, and focusing on school before volleyball or anything
