The question that this experiment asks a lot of people is that will the water rise when you lite a certain amount of candles, and if so, how high will it rise. In this experiment, my hypothesis was that the more candles you lite, the higher the water will rise as the experiment proceeds. I know this is right because I have seen many videos about this and I have done many experiments like this one.
Experimental design
In this experiment you will need many different materials such, a candle to test the experiment, a jar and water to measure the results. And many other variables such as a box and a lighter.
Materials Procedure
. Small box
. Container
. Lighter
. Four candles
. Ruler [cm]
. Colored water
. Jar First you need to fill the container with some colored water and then put a small box in the middle of it. Then you want to put the candles on the box in the experiment. Then you want to light the candles 1-4 in the experiment then measure the volume of the water. Then graph the data. …show more content…
And the question was will that happen as the experiment is going on. I later found out that my hypothesis was correct with the candle experiment. The data showed that as more candles were being lit throughout the experiment, the water began to rise more and more when more candles were lit.
But there can be errors when doing the experiment. Sometimes the ruler can be wrong with the measurements or the candles could not have that much gas in it to let the water rise as much. So make sure that you do science experiments more than once and collect the complete data that you need
